Lume Designs is an Australian-owned and operated lighting business, bringing distinctive, design-led lighting to homes across Australia.
From our Victorian base we manage our products, our stock, our customer support and our Australian operations, while working closely with our manufacturing partners overseas.

Our story
More than a lighting store.
Lume began with a simple belief: lighting should be beautiful and functional at the same time. It should change the atmosphere of a room, work with the architecture around it, and earn its place in the way people actually live.
Most lighting sits in one camp or the other. Decorative pieces that throw poor light, or practical fittings nobody wants to look at. We set out to carry the ones that do both, and to bring them to Australian homes without the showroom markup.
That focus has not changed. Every range we add is chosen for a real Australian room: a kitchen island, a dining table, a stairwell, a double-height void. If it does not work in one of those, we do not stock it.

Lume Designs is an Australian-owned business, operating from Victoria. We are not a marketplace front or a reseller passing orders along.
Our orders, our stock, our customer service and our day-to-day operations are all run from here. When you email us, you are reaching the people who run the business, in the same time zone as you.

Orders for stocked lines are picked, packed and dispatched from Victoria rather than forwarded overseas.

Lighting is fragile. Each piece is wrapped and boxed by hand, which is why we ask for 10–15 business days rather than promising overnight.

A local operation means local support, local returns and a straight answer about where your order actually is.
How our lighting is made
Designed for Australian homes. Made with experienced manufacturing partners.
Our products are manufactured through selected manufacturing partners and a production facility in China. We are open about that, because the people who build lighting well have been building it for a long time.
We work with those production teams on specifications, design details, finishes, components, packaging and product development. We tell them what an Australian room needs and what we expect a fitting to do; they bring the manufacturing experience to build it.
That arrangement is what lets us hold a design point of view, keep prices sensible, and still answer the phone in Victoria.

Quality
Quality doesn't end with the design.
A drawing is easy. The finish, the fit of a diffuser, the weight of a canopy and the state a piece arrives in are what people actually notice.
We work with our manufacturing partners to review products and specifications before a range goes on sale, and we pay particular attention to finish, presentation and packaging. Lighting that survives the factory but not the freight has not been made well enough.
Selected products carry a two-year warranty; the cover that applies to a given piece is shown on its product page.

Lighting is one of the harder things to buy online. Sizing over an island, drop heights, colour temperature, whether a piece suits a 2.4 metre ceiling or a void. Ask us before you order, not after.
